The new Ford Explorer has an interior that's road-trip ready. There are three rows of seating that accommodate seven individuals. Multi-contoured seats are available for some of the trims and the rear seats are flexible.
The interior's ambient lighting is multi-colored while yielding a soft glow. ActiveX material and premium leather are used for comfort and power-adjustable functions are built in. There's also a twin-panel moonroof and a cargo management system.
The SUV's exterior has rugged and refined elements. The headlamps have adaptive LED lighting and they surround an intricate grille. Strong contours flow across the body and the hood is well sculpted. The vehicle's aerodynamic body sits on designer wheels to complete the overall look.
Performance
Various powertrains are available including a 2.3-liter turbocharged engine that makes 300 horsepower and 310 pound-feet. There's a 3.0-liter EcoBoost engine that produces 400 horsepower and 415 pound-feet. The brand's hybrid V6 delivers 318 horsepower and 322 pound-feet while towing 5,000 pounds.
There is also a drive setting for sport, slippery, and eco.
Tech/Features
Numerous technologies are built in including Wi-Fi hotspot, Apple CarPlay, and premium audio. Other features included are Tri-Zone Temperature Control, navigation and a 10.0-inch touchscreen.
Safety
Driver-assistance features provide safety prevention. This includes features like Pre-Collision Assist, Blind Spot Monitoring and Forward Collision Warning.
